Timers: from admit to time-up
Every child on your floor has a live timer. The timer starts when the desk admits the child, not before. Here is how the desk uses it, from the moment a family walks in to the moment their time is up.
Admit a child
- Tap + New at the top of the floor. On a phone, tap the round + button at the bottom. The admit sheet opens.
- Type the parent's phone number first. If the family has been before, PlayOps finds them and fills in their names.
- For a new family, type the parent's name and the child's name. Brother or sister too? Tap + Add sibling.
- Pick how long they will play, for example one hour.
- Tap the Admit button at the bottom of the sheet. The timer starts now.
The child's card appears on the floor with a token number and the time left. Cards are in order of end time, so the child who finishes first is at the top.
Read the live timer
- The big number on each card is the time left, in minutes and seconds.
- The card changes color as time runs low: under 30 minutes, under 15 minutes, and under 5 minutes.
- The chips above the floor show only some cards: Time up, <5 min, <15 min, <30 min, Healthy or Extended. All shows every card again.
- A child on Full Day has no countdown and never reaches time-up. You close the visit when the family leaves.
Ending soon
When a child has less than 15 minutes left, the card changes color. This is a good moment to tell the parent, so they can decide before the time runs out.
- Tap the child's card.
- In the message buttons, tap Ending soon. You see the message first.
- Tap WhatsApp parent. WhatsApp opens with the message ready. Tap Send.

Time up and the chime
- When a child's time runs out, the card shows Time up and the desk hears a chime — once for each child.
- The timer keeps counting after zero, with a minus sign. You can see how long the child has gone over.
- Open the card to see a Time up banner with a WhatsApp parent button.
Make sure you can hear it. A web browser keeps sound off until someone taps the page, so tap anywhere once at the start of the day. If the sound button at the top says Tap to enable chime, tap it. If it says Sound off, the chime is muted; tap it to turn the sound back on.
Add more time
- Tap the child's card.
- Under Extend time, tap a button such as +30 min or +1 hour. The names and prices are the ones you set for your center.
- The timer on the card grows right away. The extra time goes on the bill at your price.
Tapped the wrong one? Right after you tap, a message pops up at the bottom of the screen. Tap Undo to take the time and its charge back off.
When the family leaves
Tap the child's card, then the Check out button at the bottom. The bill already has the play time, any extra time and any add-ons on it.

- QR check-in and the waiver — Parents fill in the check-in form on their own phone and show a 3-digit code. What the desk sees, and how the waiver works.
